Helmet Cameras
Almost everyone these days wants to record their riding. There are a number of ways to get the job done, but the best I have seen is when someone is wearing a helmet camera.
The best thing about the helmet camera is that it lets the viewer see the ride as if they were the one riding. It is more exciting and exhilarating. Sure it is fun to watch someone ride from a vantage point off to the side, but it is even better when it feels like you are the one going through every turn, corner and over ever jump and drop. So if you want great videos of awesome riding that viewers are going to want to watch, then you gotta get a helmet camera.
There are a lot of helmet cameras out there so check which one has the specs you want. I would only get HD now as it seems that is where everything is heading. HD is a better picture no doubt.
I would also consider whether the helmet camera is waterproof and if it is fog proof. It could get wet, muddy and you are going to be hot and fogging the thing up if it is not fog proof.
If you get HD, then get an HD card so it can record to its full potential. Nothing like slowing down an HD camera with a slow memory card!
Size is important too. You do not want to know the camera is on your helmet. You want it compact, but I would try to get one with a wide angle. You don't want to be cutting any of the action out.
Make sure you check out what type of stabilizer it has in the camera too. The stabilizer is important because lets face it, mountain biking is not like walking on clouds. You are going to have footage that is being bumped around.
Check these cameras out and compare the selection that is out there.
