There are a number of Mountain Biking DVD's out there. There is nothing better than getting your adrenaline pumping by watching an awesome ride. There is a great series out there that is available that will get you wanting to jump right onto your bike. The series is called Earthed. Check this clip out from Earthed 5.
I have been looking forward to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games for quite some time. I have been full of excitement. I have been filled with an overwhelming feeling of pride that was sparked even stronger when I was lucky enough to have my picture taken holding the Olympic Torch (unlit). What a memory, what a chance of a lifetime.
Then earlier today I was struck with overwhelming sadness that I still cannot let go of. A very young man, only 21 years old, who worked hard, was obviously determined, filled with Olympic dreams and once full of life, in a split second died on a practice run preparing for his Olympic Luge competition.
I am sure that Nodar Kumaritahvili is in the minds and hearts of people worldwide. I have no doubt that people worldwide, whether they are Nodar's family, friends, or perfect strangers have deep sadness in their hearts tonight.
I have watched the video of Nodar's tragic luge accident over and over. Stunned at his loss of life. I have tried to search the internet for anything that I could put about Nodar and his luge career other than his death today, but cannot find anything. Everything is about his death. Why? Because it is so shocking, so sad.
I hope that everyone, everywhere, whether you are an athlete or not, thinks of Nodar tonight and of his family.
My sympathies go out to the Georgian athletes, Nodar's country, Nodar's friends and Nodar's family. My sympathy is sent to you at such a difficult time. As they Olympic Cauldron was lit tonight, it made me think just how quickly Nodar's Olympic dreams and his life were extinguished. May you rest in Peace.

Why did we choose Kokopelli as our name? Kokopelli is often related to mountain biking. I am not sure how the relationship between Kokopelli and mountain biking came around. As long as I have been riding, which is quite some time now, riders associated Kokopelli and mountain biking.
The correlation between Kokopelli and Mountain Biking is further illustrated by the creation of the Kokopelli Trail that was created by the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association along with the United States Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service..
Kokopelli Trail is a 142 mile long trail (which is 229 kms) and runs from Colorado to Utah where it descends into in Moab. As all avid riders will know, Moab is one of the places that mountain bikers travel to in order to get some sweet riding in.
COPMOBA puts a lot of effort in to building and maintaining trails. A lot of COPMOBA's trail work and maintenance is done through volunteers and fundraising. Therefore, COPMOBA needs everyone's support if they can affort to help out and become a member. There are various levels of membership right from students to what COPMOBA calls a 'fat tire friend.' There are also gifts that you can get along with your membership. Thinking of becoming a member or checking the COPMOBA membership out? They could use your help.
